Ahead of the yearly flood season in Nigeria, Japan has donated some equipment to the National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA); a valued partner of the Nigerian Red Cross Society.
The equipment was unveiled in Abuja during the presentation of the NEMA 2020 annual report to the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Minister, Sadiya Umar Farouq. According to the agency, the equipment includes nine (9) Mobile rescue vehicles and four (4) water purifiers. According to NEMA, the water purifiers will be stationed in Abuja and deployed to any part of the country whenever there is an emergency.
The National Emergency Management Authority has worked with the Nigerian Red Cross Society in Disaster and Relief responses and interventions as far back as 1999.
