    Nigerian Red Cross Mobilizes Funds for Turkey/Syrian Earthquake Relief and Rehabilitation

    The Nigerian Red Cross society (NRCS) was established by an Act of Parliament in 1960 as an auxiliary to the Government in Humanitarian Services. The Act empowers the Society to support the Government in response to disasters, emergencies in the implementation of the  Geneva convention and its additional protocols which the Government of the Federation has acceded to. In 1961, following the official recognition by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent, Nigerian Red Cross Society became 86th member Nation of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

    Prince Oluyemisi Adetayo Adeaga emerges President of the Nigerian Red Cross

    After at least 7 hours of a meticulous screening procedure and then a round of voting, Prince Oluyemisi Adetayo Adeaga has emerged the President of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Nigeria’s largest Humanitarian Organization. Prince Adeaga was elected alongside other National Officers and Advisers such as his deputy, Barrister Zubair Umar who was elected National Vice President. Prince Adeaga who promised to do his best to uplift the Nigerian Red Cross shortly took his oath of office alongside other National Officers and Advisers of the Nigeria Red Cross who had just been elected too. All the National Officers will serve an initial term of 4 years after which they may seek reelection.
