THE COMPTORLLER-GENERAL OF THE NIGERIA CUSTOM COMMENDS NIGERIAN RED CROSS SOCIETY
The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Custom Service has commended the Nigerian Red Cross Society’s sacrifices and contributions in the field of humanitarian services. This was contained in a letter of commendation sent to the Nigerian Red Cross Society.
The letter reads in part: “I am directed to commend the sacrifice and contributions of your representatives to the success recorded in the first phase of distribution of relief items to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) across the country.
The comptroller-General is highly appreciative of the accomplishments recorded and calls for continuous collaboration to alleviate the sufferings of the IDPs.
The Comptroller-General has extended the team’s mandate and will now stand as a Standing Committee. To this end, the Comptroller-General seeks your understanding as the Committee members will still be required to meet and travel to IDP Camps as the need arises.”
The Nigerian Red Cross Society has meticulously adhered to their mandate which is basically to alleviate the suffering of persons affected by any form of disaster.
